
According to media reports, the incident occurred in 2023 at the ATB store. Vasilchenkov (the shooter is tentatively identified as 58-year-old Dmitry Vasilchenkov. – “GORDON”) went out of line to the cash register and began checking out his goods. After the remark, he began to rush at people and curse. The man he attacked, Platon V., wanted to record it on video, TSN reported.
“After that, he knocked the phone out of my hands, injured my right hand and broke the phone. All this was recorded on ATB cameras. Then a criminal case was opened against him,” said Platon V.
According to him, even then, in 2023, Vasilchenkov “seemed to be an aggressive person,” but “during the confrontation, he tried to look kind.”
Earlier, the shooter’s neighbor, in a comment to reporters, described him as a seemingly intelligent man who always said hello, did not communicate much with others and lived alone.
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky informed that the attacker had previously been prosecuted.
