Donald Trump answered a question about Cuba. “It depends”
Reporters asked the president whether the reports were true and whether Cuba would be the next target of American actions.
“Well, that depends on the definition of military action,” Trump said.
“USA Today” reports on work on military plans for Cuba
The American daily “USA Today” reported on Wednesday that The Pentagon is “quietly accelerating” work on military plans for a possible operation in Cuba. These plans are to be prepared in case Trump orders intervention in this country.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced in an interview with “Newsweek” that his country will resist if the US launches a military attack on the island.
“USA Today” reports that the United States and Cuba are trying to find a way out of the crisis, although it is not known how much both sides are willing to make concessions.
Donald Trump has talked about Cuba before
This is not the first time Trump has spoken in the context of a possible intervention in Cuba. — I created a great army. I told you there would be no need to use it. But sometimes you have to use them. By the way, Cuba is next – said the US president at the end of March.
Earlier, Trump announced that he would “have the honor of taking Cuba”. He also stated that he would do something with the Caribbean island soon. All these signals indicate Washington's growing interest in the situation in the territory ruled by the communist regime.
