MTS clients can help flood victims in Dagestan

17 April 15:26

Residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory who use MTS services can support people affected by floods in Dagestan. The operator has opened a fundraiser in the My MTS application.

Users can transfer accumulated cashback to charity or make a direct monetary donation. To do this, just register the number in the application with confirmation via SMS. Funds raised will go to local non-profit organizations to help eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster. You can also transfer money through the company’s partner, the Sistema charitable foundation.

Previously, MTS had already launched support measures for subscribers living in the most affected areas. They topped up their balance by 500 rubles, which corresponds to the average monthly subscription fee for communications. In addition, the operator made free calls to hotline numbers in Dagestan, including the Makhachkala department of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, as well as the psychological support line of the local branch of the Red Cross.

MTS engineering services not only from the Dagestan branch, but also from the Stavropol Territory, North Ossetia and the Astrakhan Region are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the flood and ensuring stable communications. The combined technical unit provided backup power to base stations using generators at key points in Makhachkala, Kaspiysk and Khasavyurt at the height of the floods. This helped subscribers in flooded areas stay in touch to call rescue and medical services.

In 2025, more than 80 thousand users of the application made 29 million donations – not only to the partner funds of the corporate charitable project, but also to help regional communities in critical situations. For example, thanks to cashback write-offs from users, more than 8.5 million rubles were transferred to flood victims in the Orenburg region, as well as to residents of border areas in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.
