A member of Pekao's supervisory board resigned. In the background, changes in PZU

On April 15, 2026, Bartosz Grześkowiak resigned from the position of vice-chairman of the supervisory board of Bank Pekao and from membership in the supervisory board of the Bank, effective at the end of the day. The resignation does not contain information about its reasons, the bank said in a statement on Wednesday.
The day before, on April 14, the results of the competition for the positions of president and members of the management board of PZU were announced. The term of office of the management board expired at the end of 2025. Therefore, on March 12, the company announced that a qualification procedure would be held that would cover the entire management board.
Changes in PZU
As a result of the proceedings, a president was elected (Bogdan Benczak will remain the president) and a new six-person management board was appointed.
Compared to the previous management board, there is no new composition Bartosz Grześkowiak and Tomasz Kulik. In their place, two new members of the management board were appointed – Kazimierz Karolczak and Rafał Kiliński.
PZU and Bank Pekao announced in June 2025 plans to create a banking and insurance group.

Who is Bartosz Grześkowiak?
As we read on the Bank Pekao website, Bartosz Grześkowiak is mmanager associated with the insurance industry for over 20 years. From April 2024, he was a member of the PZU management board. Since April 2024, he has been the chairman of the supervisory board of TUW PZUW, and since May 2024 he has been a member of the Audit Committee of the Polish Chamber of Insurance.
