PISA-type subjects in the National Assessment from grades 2, 4 and 6 this year. When are the exams and what is their purpose

In the last module of this school year, in May, students from the 2nd, 4th and 6th grades take the national assessments organized by the Ministry of Education. Testing takes place during class time and the subjects are unique nationally. This year, the assessments have two important changes, which change not only the way of testing, but also their practical utility: the introduction of items inspired by international PISA-type tests, oriented towards the application of knowledge in real situations, and the obligation to develop individualized learning plans based on the results obtained. In other words, assessment no longer only checks what the child knows, but also what he does with what he knows. And for those with gaps, teachers are forced to find customized remedial solutions.

What are these ratings and what do they actually measure?

These assessments do not check the amount of information memorized, but how the child uses what he has learned in school. This is a crucial difference, because a child can reproduce the lesson but have difficulty applying the information in a new context.
