Rapid – FC Arges 0-0. Costel Gâlcă (54 years old), the coach of Giulești, drew the first conclusions, in a flash-interview, after his team made another wrong step in the fight for the title in the Super League, in round number 4 of the play-off.
Gâlcă was not dissatisfied with the game of his team, considering that the students he coaches developed the phases well, but believes that everything fell apart at the end.
He also commented on the statements of Alex Dobre, who said that it is not his fault for what happened at the team. Gałcă contradicts himself and believes that everyone has their share of the blame, and now, at the end of the play-offs, the goal remains only to qualify for the European cups.
Costel Gâlcă, after the draw with FC Argeș in which Rapid had a shot on goal: “We offered football, we had opportunities”
“I expected a balanced match. Defensive balance and intuition in front of the goal was important. We managed several actions in the first half, to get into the opponent's box, but the decisions were wrong, we were not inspired. We offered football, we had opportunities.
We didn't completely dominate the opponent, but we had our chances to score. But if you don't make the right decision, you lose. It was the same with Cluj at home, and with CFR, we failed to maintain the rhythm and score. In football it's hard if you don't score.
“Our goal is to qualify for the European Cups”
FC Argeș is an aggressive, organized team. I had actions but did not complete them. We had shots, but without efficiency. I generally think of the group. Dobre has to tell me if it doesn't fit. I think about the team, the group.
Tensions exist, I told you, but we must overcome them. We had to win this game. Our goal is to qualify for the European Cups. Pașcanu was tired, nothing more. I also said before the start of the play-offs that the first 3-4 stages are very important.
“Dobre said it wasn't his fault. We all have to own up!”
Now we are thinking more about the European cups, not the title, but it also depends on the results of the upcoming matches. As Dobre said, it's not his fault. We all have to take it on! He needs to tell me if he's not feeling well so we can find solutions.
I'm sorry I didn't bring joy to the children. I'm sorry. Mircea Lucescu will remain history for all, a benchmark for all coaches. I told you, it is important to appreciate people and respect them”, said Gâlcă, after the match, on Digi Sport.
I prepare every week, I try to make the most of what I have. Probably the tactic doesn't match my qualities 100% and how I was doing it at the beginning, hence my performance probably weaker than usual. It's the coach's decision, I have to respect what tactics and work for the team.
Everyone has expectations from me, it's normal, I created these expectations. I started the season very well, I was scoring match after match, and now if you don't score 1-2 matches or you're losing form, or if I score I'm individualistic, if I score two goals I'm scoring against weak teams. I am focused on what I can do. There are things I leave out and focus on what I can do
