“I'm not going willingly.” A thug wanted for five years after disfiguring a young man goes live on TikTok
A man from Bihor county, convicted definitively for disfiguring a young man in 2016 and internationally wanted after fleeing the country, continues to be active on social media, where he builds an image of “simple man” and indirectly challenges the court's decision.
The man was initially sentenced in November 2018 to one year and six months of suspended imprisonment, under supervision, after assaulting a young man in front of a club in Beiuș. The incident took place on the night of October 28 to 29, 2016, against the backdrop of alcohol consumption.
According to the investigators, the conflict allegedly started over a cap that the aggressor tried to take from the victim. Her refusal led to a violent reaction: the man punched the young man in the face and continued the aggression, hitting him several times on the head and body, until the witnesses intervened, e-Bihorean reports.
The victim suffered a double fracture of the mandible and required complex surgery involving the fitting of titanium plates and screws. Recovery took more than 60 days of medical care, according to medical examiners.
The court gave the aggressor the chance to remain free, on the condition that he perform 60 days of community service and pay moral damages in the amount of 60,000 lei, as well as medical and legal expenses.
However, according to the decision of the Bihor Court of August 10, 2021, the man did not comply with his obligations established by the judges, avoiding the payment of compensation, although he would have carried out income-generating activities both in the country and abroad. Under these conditions, the court ordered the execution of the sentence in detention.
In the meantime, he left Romania and was wanted internationally, his name and photo being published on the website of the Romanian Police. Although he has been on the wanted list for more than five years, the man does not seem to be hiding.
According to some records that appeared in the public space, he is currently in the Netherlands, where he is active on social media platforms, including live broadcasts on TikTok. In these appearances, he claims no wrongdoing “with nothing” and states that he takes responsibility for supporting his family.
At the same time, he states that he would be willing to serve the sentence, but not voluntarily, and criticizes the judicial system, as well as his former lawyers, whom he accuses of not adequately defending him.
“If I have to go to jail, I'm going now. But I'm not going willingly, so why should I go? If I've done wrong in such a way that I have to spend my time in jail and not produce for the community and raise my children, no problem, brother, whoever comes.” says this one.
The man claims that he intends to return to the country “legally” and to hire other defense lawyers to defend his case, despite a final conviction already handed down by the court.
“It's almost time for me to go home and I'm going to go by legal means, because I'm working so hard that I'm hiring a lawyer to fight for me, because the others said: “Fuck him, he's a fool””. he also states.
