The coming of Flavius Stoican on the bench of the Lighthouse, she is not seen well by the fans from Constanta, who are not willing to give her much patience.
Being under pressure, Flavius Stoican will also have a fiery debut, with FCSB, in the game scheduled for Monday, from 20:30, at home, in the 5th stage of the play-out. However, the former international is convinced that the results on the field will determine the course of the relationship with the fans.
Strong pressure from the start for Flavius Stoican
Chosen by Gică Popescu to save Farul Constanța from relegation, after the unexpected resignation of Ianis Zicu, Flavius Stoican is not to the liking of the white-blue fans.
The 49-year-old technician was not only challenged on social networks, the ultras from Constanta announced their intention to organize a protest action. They abandoned the idea only after a discussion with management, who asked them to put aside their grievances and support the team in these difficult times.
The coach is contested mainly because of his past, linked to Dinamo Bucharest and Craiova University, but also because of the lack of results from his career on the technical bench.
The last time, Flavius Stoican coached in the 2nd League, missing the qualification in the play-off with CSM Reșita. Previously, he ticked off several failures and short terms, at the University of Craiova, Dinamo Bucharest, CS Mioveni and FC Botoșani. And Farul supporters fear that the story will not repeat itself in the current season, especially since Denis Alibec and the company are only one point away from staying in the Super League and 5 points away from direct relegation.
Flavius Stoican: “I hope things will go well”
“As long as things are going well, as long as you have results, as long as you are dedicated to this job, people love you, regardless of the past, where you played or trained. The idea is for people to see on the field that the players are running, working, putting in materials, they have desire.
People certainly appreciate this and in the end it is the most important thing. There are other cases, when people love you, and you are in a state of comfort and you show nothing, neither as a player nor as a coach, and they end up booing you, even if you were born in that town.
What's important is what we're going to do, and clearly people will appreciate it if things go well. And I hope they will do well. The first impression is very important and I want to make a good result. People want to see determination, aggression, desire, whatever is within our reach. It's all about mental commitment, how much you want to be better than your opponent”, said Flavius Stoican.
The technician led the first training session of the white-blue team in the new position on Monday, helped by his second-in-command, Ștefan Bărboianu, also with a past linked to Dinamo Bucharest and Craiova University.
