Vlad Gheorghe, the honorary adviser of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, asked Peter Magyar, the new Prime Minister of Hungary, to investigate the money sent from the state budget to Romania. The demand also has an impact in sports, in the context in which SEPS and Csikszeredatwo teams from the first two echelons of Romania, have received substantial sums in these years from their neighbors to the west.
The reason why Prime Minister's adviser Ilie Bolojan requested this from Magyar is that “there are serious suspicions that some of these funds did not reach the people, but fed pro-Viktor Orban (Magyar's political opponent) political influence and propaganda networks.”
Starting from the promise that Peter Magyar “will pursue all those who robbed the state and hold them accountable”, Vlad Gheorghe asked that he pursue the money “pumped” into Romania.
Vlad Gheorghe, Bolojan's advisor, request for Peter Magyar: “There are serious suspicions”
Vlad Gheorghe
“I asked the new Hungarian political leader to investigate the public money sent from the Hungarian budget to Romania, in the name of “investments” for the Hungarian communities.
There are serious suspicions that some of these funds did not reach the people, but fed networks of political influence and pro-Viktor Orban propaganda.
We're not just talking about money. We are talking about political influence built with public money, including on the territory of Romania.
We started from this promise and requested the Prime Minister-elect:
-
to check how the money was spent;
-
to identify the real beneficiaries;
-
to trace the networks created by the old regime;
-
there should be cooperation with the Romanian and European authorities”, Vlad Gheorghe sent on social networks.
Viktor Orban sent serious money to Sepsi and Csikszereda
From 2022 until the current year, according to reports published by Sepsi on the official website, the club patronized by Laszlo Dioszegi collected 20.15 million euros. In addition, the League 2 club received a 25 million euro grant from the Hungarians for the construction of the arena in Sfântu Gheorghe. For fiscal year 2025, Sepsi received 4.2 million euros.
What money has Sepsi received from the Hungarian government in recent years:
-
2022 – 6.1 million euros
-
2023 – 4.25 million euros
-
2024 – 5.6 million euros
-
2025 – 4.2 million euros
Csikszereda transfers millions from Viktor Orban to “and others”
Csikszereda was also subscribed to the money from the Orban Government, but it did not go to the “Subsidies, donations and other state/local authorities income” category in the financial report. In this category, where the money received by Sepsi is transferred, it appears that the formation from Miercurea Ciuc has collected only 8.2 million lei (1.6 million euros) from 2022 until now.
However, the hammers' financial reports show huge amounts under “other operating income” without elaborating. Very likely, it is the money from the funding of the Orban Government.
In “other operating income” Csikszereda collected a total of 25.5 million euros from 2022 to the end of 2025.
-
2022 – 4.1 million euros
-
2023 – 6.2 million euros
-
2024 – 7.5 million euros
-
2025 – 7.76 million euros
