Intervention in the Port of Constanta for the evacuation of a foreign sailor with medical problems

A crew of the Romanian Agency for Saving Human Life at Sea (ARSVOM) intervened on Sunday evening to take over an Azeri sailor, who had medical problems, on board a ship from the outer road of Constanța Port, reports News.ro. The man was brought safely to shore and taken over by an ambulance crew.
ARSVOM representatives announced that they were requested to intervene, on Sunday, around 18.07, by the Maritime Coordination Center (MRCC) to carry out a Medevac-type intervention.
Thus, on board the ship Lider Prestij, under the flag of Cameroon, located in the 2nd anchorage area of the outer road of Constanţa Port, a crew member requires medical attention.
On Sunday, at 18:13, the SAR Artemis vessel from ARSVOM moved to the indicated area to pick up the patient. Half an hour later, the ARSVOM crew took over the patient, of Azerbaijani nationality. He was conscious and cooperative, complaining of chest pain.
He was brought to the passenger berth of the Constanța Port, to be picked up by an ambulance crew that transported him to the hospital.
