Mirel Rădoi (45 years old), the coach of FCSB, analyzed the victory with Oțelul Galati4-0 in stage 4 of the play-out.
The success brought FCSB one point closer to the play-out leader, UTA. Mirel Rădoi declared himself satisfied with the performance of his students in the first 55 minutes, but wants constancy in expression during the entire game.
Mirel Rădoi, after 4-0 with Oțelul: “We still have work to do in the last 35 minutes”
“Happy for the win and the way we showed in the first half and not conceding a goal. On this occasion, we somehow have a happy Easter for us and the fans. The way we started the game, I think it was only a matter of time before we scored.
A very good first half, in the second we let the engines down a bit, but somehow on purpose, because at a certain point we had no more energy and it was somehow normal that we couldn't accelerate like in the first half.
We try to keep the team as high as possible, even if they can't. At least get used to walking the game every time, because in many moments the opponent is just as tired. But it was clear that the Steel would also come upon us, because they had nothing left to lose.
We discussed these things at halftime and I think so we still need to work on this: even if we are very tired, to somehow be able to move possession into free areas, to keep the ball as much as possible“, said Radoi to DigiSport.
Asked about the players he bet on todayin Târnovanu to Mihai Popescu, Chiricheș and Stoian, Rădoi replied “first of all I'm happy for the team, but also for them. Not necessarily that we were inspired, but I'm glad that the things we thought about came out. In the end it's just a victory, we're enjoying it these days, but we still have 35 minutes to work”.
“Are you staying at FCSB?” » Mirel Rădoi's curious answer
Asked if he will stay at FCSB beyond the end of the current season, he answered mysteriously:
“At the match with Farul I'll be sure, then, after it's over, we'll have time to talk. For now, I'm thinking that tomorrow we can keep the peace in the family, and from Monday onwards we'll rewatch the game.”
Other statements by Mirel Rădoi, about…
… Stefan Târnovanu: “He has prepared very well. There is a big competition between them, Mati (no – Matei Popa) and Lukas. In this situation, whichever one of them we choose, he has prepared equally well. We try to make all decisions with logic and arguments behind them. Then, his developments at the club team level will be reflected in possible calls to the national team, just as Mati has already been called up to the U19, maybe U20, U21 will follow. And with UTA we won without conceding a goal”.
… the opportunity to host the first leg of the Conference League play-off: “It would be much easier for us at the moment, but there are still 5 finals to play. So that we can take the steps we want, the most important match after today's is the one at Farul. In this situation, we already have a lead of 7 points, and with a win it would be 10, it would be more against Csikszereda. Then, we would stay for the two positions, the ones we have a license, that is, us and Botoșani”.
… what's next at FCSB: “It may be a restart match, but I wouldn't stop there. They have discussed this many times this season, I'm sure. The most important thing at the moment is not to fall into the trap that we won 4-0 and that's how the games will go from now on. I'm satisfied with 55 minutes today, we have 35 more minutes to work on, in which we continue with the same intensity, regardless of whether we have the ball or not.
This is the starting point: to keep the good things of today, but conditional on the opponent, who takes on a lot of 1 vs 1 duels in all areas of the field. We have to keep what we did well, and improve what happened in the last 35 minutes”.
