Mojtaba Khamenei's health condition. This is the first such information

Reuters, citing three people close to him, reported on Saturday that Iran's new supreme leader was still recovering from serious injuries suffered in the airstrike that killed his father at the beginning of the war.

All three sources said that Khamenei's face was disfigured as a result of the February 28 US-Israeli attack on the leader's headquarters in central Tehran, and he also suffered serious injuries to one or both legs.

New information about Mojtaba Khamenei's health

But two of these people reported that 56-year-old Khamenei is recovering and remains mentally fit. He participates in meetings with senior officials via video conference and is involved in decision-making on important issues, including war and negotiations with Washington.

As Reuters emphasizes, information from people close to Khamenei is the most detailed description of his health in weeks. Since his election to the position of supreme spiritual and political leader on March 8, Mojtaba Khamenei has not once appeared in public.

Mojtaba Khamenei was wounded on the first day of the war started by the United States and Israel, in an attack that killed his father and predecessor, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who had ruled the country since 1989.

Iranian authorities have not issued any statement about his injuries, but as Reuters notes, a news anchor on state television used a term used to refer to people seriously wounded in war.

The Reuters account of Khamenei's injuries coincides with a March 13 statement by U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth in which he said Khamenei was “wounded and possibly maimed.” A source familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments told Reuters that Khamenei is believed to have lost a leg.

On Tuesday, the British daily The Times described an intelligence note according to which Khamenei is undergoing treatment in the city of Qom, but is unable to take part in the exercise of power because he remains unconscious.
