Evasion of over 3 million lei: six administrators, accused of defrauding the state by using phantom companies. Foreclosed houses, apartments and land
The administrators of several companies in Bucharest are under criminal investigation for an extensive mechanism of tax evasion, through which they would have damaged the state by more than 3.2 million lei. Prosecutors discovered a complex mechanism of tax fraud in several areas, with the help of “ghost” companies.

The prosecutors of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court have started the criminal investigation against six people accused of using “ghost” companies and companies with stolen identities to register fictitious purchases in the fields of construction, transport of goods and organization of events between 2018 and 2022.
The investigators claim that the administrators of the five companies involved would have introduced fictitious commercial operations in the accounting, totaling more than 17.4 million lei, in order to artificially reduce tax obligations.
Through this criminal mechanism, they caused damage to the state's general consolidated budget valued at 3,202,621 lei (669,623 euros), representing VAT and profit tax.
Four people were placed under judicial control
Four of the defendants were placed under judicial control for 60 days. In parallel, the prosecutors instituted the seizure of their assets until the damage is covered.
Among the confiscated assets are five houses, three apartments and 12 plots of land, valued at an amount that fully covers the damage caused to the state budget.
