Former handball player Ada Nechita (42 years old) participated on Tuesday in a gala organized by the Romanian Handball Federation (FRH). The event took place at the “Marriott” hotel, on the occasion of its 90th anniversary.
The former great winger of the Romanian national team spoke about the secrets of excellent physical shape and said that he wants CSM Bucharest and Gloria Bistrița to qualify for the Final Four of the Champions League.

“(Who haven't you seen in a while and now you've had a chance to reconnect?) I am very happy to be here on this special anniversary. It is a wonderful opportunity to see my former colleagues, to see people from handball, with whom I have very nice memories.
A lot of the girls… a lot of them I haven't seen. I keep in touch with very few girls constantly, the constant connection, and you realize that it is a great joy to see each other again on such occasions.
(How do you keep up? How do you manage to keep up?) With a lot of effort. So physically… I still train almost every day, I haven't given up on sports and of course I pay a lot of attention to my diet.
That's what I've done all my life and continue to do, because, yes, I want longevity. I want to be as fit as I am now in my 60s.
I haven't played handball before, but I can tell you that I really miss playing. Yes, I'm not far from handball.
I watch almost all the matches and rarely get to be in the gym, but this year will be the European Championship in Cluj, where I live, and I'm looking forward to seeing quality handball”, said Ada Nechita, at the FRH event.
“My husband even asked me the other day when is the Final Four, let's get tickets already”
One topic of discussion was the progress of club teams in the Champions League. Ada Nechita believes in a historic first: the presence of both representatives of Romania, CSM Bucharest and Gloria Bistrița, in the ace box in Budapest.
“(Do you believe in this generation, to reach an edition of the Olympic Games?) Yes, I think so! I think they will get a good result at the European Championship. They will play at home, they have to give everything they can. They have the audience on their side and will surely get a good result as well.
(One mention, but Romania with two teams in the Final Four, Bistrița and CSM) That would be awesome! That's what we need, to enjoy handball, us on the sidelines, the girls on the field. Let's see as much handball as possible on TV and at the highest level.
