The last information on maximum fuel prices in Poland was published in “Monitor Polski” on April 3. She announced how much Poles would pay for liquid fuels during Easter. The amounts given are valid until Tuesday, April 7. According to the new regulations, the maximum price set by the Minister of Energy becomes effective from the day following its announcement in “Monitor Polski”.

According to information from April 7, the maximum fuel prices on Wednesday, April 8 will be as follows: A liter of 95 petrol will cost no more than PLN 6.21 PLN, 98 petrol – PLN 6.82, and diesel – PLN 7.87.
This is how maximum fuel prices are calculated
The mechanism for determining maximum fuel prices is based on a specific formula. It takes into account the average wholesale price of fuel on the domestic market, to which taxes are added – excise duty, fuel surcharge – as well as a sales margin of PLN 30 per liter and VAT.
Selling fuels above the established maximum price has serious consequences. Entrepreneurs face penalties of up to PLN 1 million. The National Tax Administration is responsible for monitoring compliance with the regulations.
