“We put order in the terraces in the center of the Capital! They should look civilized, clean, decent, like outside! They should respect customers, but also pedestrians, they should be attractive, but in accordance with the legislation”announced the Bucharest City Hall in a message posted on Facebook.

The representatives of the institution announced that they have already started working on a new regulation for terraces, which will include norms, clarifications and operating conditions.

According to them, the mayor Ciprian Ciucu called on Tuesday, April 7, the representatives of the hospitality industry to a debate.

“We want to share with you our vision for this new regulation, and we expect you to tell us what problems, what suggestions you have. We want to take feedback. So that trade is legal, predictable, civilized, and this regulation helps you. You are important to this city! And we want you to be our partners in this discussion, so that together we can make the city look decent”declared the general mayor.

During the debate, it was discussed about the optimization of the way in which location notices are issued, about the possibility of the terraces operating throughout the year, about how much of the sidewalk to occupy and the optimal distance from the roadway, and much more, according to PMB representatives.

“After this terrace regulation, another one will follow for facades and company signage – what sizes, proportions must be respected, so that the city no longer looks like a sorrel. In my vision, the central area will be more and more pedestrian-friendly, with you. I want an effervescent economic and cultural life, with young people, grandparents, children, with terraces, cafes, restaurants, in harmony with bookstores, with the cultural area. This is what I see”stated Ciprian Ciucu.
