April 6 9:17

On April 6, the campaign begins in the regions of Russia, including the Krasnoyarsk Territory “Coin Week”, during which residents can exchange without commission accumulated change on banknotes or credit it to your account.

You can return coins issued no earlier than 1997. If you have accumulated a lot of small change, it is recommended to sort it by denomination in advance so that counting at the checkout goes faster. And some will receive commemorative coins.

“The All-Russian Coin Week is an opportunity to return into circulation the small change that ends up in piggy banks or pockets. This year, the event sites will be not only bank offices, but also stores of federal and local retail chains. At retail outlets, change will be exchanged for banknotes. In banks, coins can not only be exchanged, but also credited to your account. Some banks will reward participants with commemorative “Fixies” coins from the “Russian (Soviet) Animation” series,” comments Alexei Gagarin, head of the Krasnoyarsk cash operations center of the Bank of Russia.

The promotion will last until April 18. The full list and addresses of participants in all regions of the country, as well as an interactive map, are published on the website coinweek.rf. Exchange conditions and operating hours are different for each site; you can check in advance.

Let us remind you that residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory actively participate in the action every year: in the last autumn “Coin Week” they returned more than 1 million coins worth 4.4 million rubles back into circulation. And in total, 215 million pieces worth almost 1 billion rubles were collected throughout the country as part of previous campaigns over three years.

“Mining coins is a labor-intensive and expensive process; they wear out for a very long time and can be used in calculations for decades, but they often lie idle in boxes, bags, and piggy banks. On average, each Russian has 1.5 kilograms of metal money in his hands. The coins collected during the campaign allow us to reduce the volume of production of new ones,” explained Alexey Gagarin.
