Bus driver, caught behind the wheel with an alcohol level of over one per thousand, after he overturned with the vehicle
A bus driver from Alba County was detained by the police following a road accident, writes News.ro. He lost control of the vehicle in a curve, and following the checks, the agents found that, at the time of the event, he had a breath alcohol level of over one per thousand.
The driver, aged 37, from Cergău Mare, was detained preventively for 24 hours on Friday, following an accident that occurred in the evening of March 30, the Alba County Police announced on Saturday.
The road event took place at around 10:30 p.m., on county road 107, outside the town of Cergău Mare.
The traffic police who did the investigation on the spot and found that the driver, who was driving the bus in the direction of Cergău – Roşia de Secaş, on a curved road sector, lost control over the direction of travel and overturned outside the carriageway.
“Following the testing of the man, with the alcohol test device, the value of 1.12 mg/liter of pure alcohol in the exhaled air resulted, which is why he was taken to the hospital in order to determine the blood alcohol level”, the Police officials said.
At the time of the road accident, the man was alone on the bus. He was slightly injured, being taken to the Blaj Municipal Hospital.
The man is to be presented to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Blaj Court, the investigations in his case continue under the aspect of committing the crimes of culpable bodily harm and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
