The ZUS management board versus trade unionists. Dispute over the amount of pay increases

The Management Board of ZUS presented a proposal to increase wages by PLN 200 per full-time position, which, after taking into account additional remuneration components resulting from the Company's Collective Labor Agreement, gives PLN 284. The management board also proposed a one-time award of PLN 2,000. zloty. The employer maintained this position during Friday's talks, which lasted until the afternoon.

12 company trade unions did not agree to the financial terms proposed by the plant's authorities. Union representatives formed an inter-union protest and strike committee on Wednesday and decided not to leave the institution's headquarters. The trade union is demanding an increase in wages by an average of PLN 1,200. PLN gross per employee.
The Ministry of Family supported the proposal of increases
Deputy Minister Sebastian Gajewski, appointed by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy to supervise the Institute, announced on Thursday that the ministry supports possible changes in the ZUS financial plan. The Ministry is ready to accept modifications necessary to implement the increases and bonuses proposed by the management, provided that the proposals are accepted by the trade union.
The ministry emphasized that it expected the management board to negotiate effectively and reach an agreement. The Ministry also supported the organization of the meeting of the Problem Team for the budget, remuneration and social benefits of the Social Dialogue Council, which will be held on April 10. The meeting will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy and the Ministry of Finance.

Negotiations suspended until April 9
The parties signed a declaration on the suspension of talks regarding the division of funds for salary increases for 2026. “The talks will be resumed on April 9 this year at the ZUS headquarters,” the Department informed. During Friday's negotiations, the member of the management board responsible for IT answered the social side's questions regarding the IT presentation. The Management Board also provided trade unionists with information on key trends illustrating the burden of tasks related to the institution's statutory activities. The plant assured that despite ongoing negotiations, customer service in branches is ongoing and work is carried out without disruptions.
