The house in Kizel, where household gas exploded today, was last checked in December. Experts found no violations. Local residents did not complain about a possible leak.
According to one version, the explosion could have been caused by a faulty gas water heater in the apartment on the fourth floor. The number of victims has increased to three – one of them is in serious condition. In addition to the fourth floor, the third floor was also damaged. The shock wave demolished the interior and walls of adjacent apartments between the first and second entrances.
Right now, rescuers are looking for more possible victims under the rubble. They are breaking down doors in apartments where, according to the mayor, pensioners may be present.
