The governor of the Donetsk region, Vadym Filashkin, announced that around noon Russian forces dropped five air bombs on Kramatorsk.
He said that as a result of the airstrikes, at least five residential buildings were damaged, as well as a vehicle service station and five cars.

Later, around 15.30 authorities confirmed that At least two people were killed and at least three were injured in the attack. The injured are under the care of appropriate services.
“Attacking residential buildings in the middle of the day is a conscious choice and a well-thought-out tactic of the Russians. They came to destroy and kill and they will certainly answer for it,” Filashkin wrote.

Kramatorsk, together with Slavyansk, Druzhkivka and Konstantinivka, forms a belt of Ukrainian strongholds in the northern part of the Donetsk Oblast. Control over these cities allows the authorities in Kiev to maintain logistics, command and supply base for the troops fighting in the east. Their loss could open the way for Russia to conduct further operations deep into Ukraine.
Russia intensifies attacks
Russia also struck in the Zhytomyr Oblast on Friday. “At the moment, the number of fatalities remains unchanged – one 70-year-old woman. Five residents of the region suffered wounds and injuries. The rescue operation at the scene is ongoing,” Vitaly Bunechko, the head of the authorities of this region, wrote in the Telegram messenger.
According to the latest information, as a result of a Russian airstrike in the north of the Zhytomyr Oblast, 18 buildings were destroyed, including nine residential ones. Over 100 residential buildings, over 55 farm buildings and two shops were damaged, Buneczko added.
The Air Force said the Russian army used 542 drones and 37 missiles in Friday's daytime attack. Anti-aircraft defense shot down 541 targets – 26 missiles and 515 drones of various types. Strikes by 11 missiles and 27 combat unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded in 20 locations.
