In the vicinity of Szczecin, there is increased traffic at gas stations on Thursday. Queues had been forming since the morning, including: at the CircleK Express station in Lubieszyn (Police poviat), a few hundred meters from the border. Only German drivers refueled there. There were no cars with Polish license plates. They bought the most popular 95 gasoline for PLN 6.19, and diesel for PLN 7.61.

At two BP stations in Lubieszyn, petrol cost PLN 6.23 and diesel PLN 7.65, i.e. the maximum price set on Thursday by the Minister of Energy. At two Orlen stations, diesel was cheaper and cost PLN 7.59 per liter, and ninety-five PLN 6.21. There were several vehicles waiting at the pumps.

In the town of Dobra near Szczecin (Police poviat), also close to the border, 95 petrol could be bought for PLN 6.19, diesel for PLN 7.64 (station of the local “Bobryk” chain). In Mierzyn, a town on the DK 10 route from Lubieszyn to Szczecin, gasoline was the cheapest: PLN 6.15 per liter (“Faraon” station, also a regional distributor). Diesel could be refueled for PLN 7.53, and for truck drivers, ON TIR was for PLN 7.52.

Employees of border gas stations admitted in an interview with PAP that On Wednesday and Thursday, there are two or even three times more customers from Germany than a few days agoi.e., among others before establishing official maximum prices in Poland. Drivers from German border counties, especially Vorpommern Greifswald (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), often poured fuel into 10-liter canisters.

The difference in fuel prices on both sides of the border is getting higher. For example, in Pasewalk, located approximately 30 km from the Lubieszyn/Linken border crossing, diesel fuel costs over EUR 2.40. 95-octane gasoline (E-10) costs approximately EUR 2.15. According to the regulations introduced in Germany, fuel price increases can only be announced once a day, at noon. According to the ADAC automobile club, on Wednesday fuel prices increased by an average of 7 euro cents, and on Thursday by over 9 euro cents.

Converted into Polish zlotys, the most popular 95 gasoline costs over PLN 9.20 in Germany, which means you have to pay three zlotys more per liter. The price of diesel oil is approaching PLN 10 and 50 groszy.

In accordance with the government CPN (Fuel Prices Lower) program, maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel have been introduced in Poland. On Thursday, a liter of EU95 petrol will cost no more than PLN 6.23, EU98 petrol – PLN 6.84 and diesel oil – PLN 7.65. On Wednesday it was PLN 6.21/l, PLN 6.81/l and PLN 7.66 per liter, respectively.

On Friday, a liter of EU95 petrol will cost no more than PLN 6.19, EU98 petrol – PLN 6.80, and diesel – PLN 7.64, which means that the maximum prices at stations will be lower than on Thursday. (PAP)
