Specifically, in 2025, the group from Gruia recorded total operating income of approximately 9.0 million euros, but expenses reached approximately 14.8 million euros, which generated a net loss of approximately 6.2 million euros. And the total debt reached 25 million euros.
In a statement for GSP.ro, Iuliu Mureșan explained the accounting situation of Cluj. The president of the club says that the financial report did not include the sums obtained from the sale of Louis Munteanu, Otto Hindrich and Lindon Emerllahu and that the biggest part of the debt is to the financier Ioan Varga, who, however, has no intention of asking for his money back.
Iuliu Mureșan: “CFR Cluj is doing well from a financial point of view”
“From now on, the world can focus more on how much the team has progressed in the last few months and the fact that we are now in the top places. Pancu, the players and everyone at the club have done an excellent job.
Financially, things are very good now. The financier made a financial effort and sent the necessary money to resolve all current debts. We also solved the license for UEFA, we are fine. There is still only one debt, to ANAF, but the payment was staggered and we pay monthly.
The published financial report contained data up to December 31. We have to take into account that the amounts obtained from the sale of players are not entered there. We obtained 8 million euros for Munteanu, Emerllahu and Otto. This money will be seen in the next financial report.
The fans should know that I have paid the debts necessary to obtain the UEFA license. We are up to date with player and employee salaries. Of the remaining debt, the largest part is to Nelutu Varga. But that's not a problem, because he won't ask for his money back. He loves football, loves the club and works hard, away from home, to keep it as high as possible.
Everyone has been struggling, but now we are doing well financially. It is much more difficult for a private club to raise funds and maintain itself as high as possible, unlike a club that receives money from the City Council”, Iuliu Mureșan told Gazeta Sporturilor.
