Dinamo applied for the European license. The 'Dogs last played in the qualifiers of a European competition in 2017, when they were knocked out by Athletic Bilbao in the third preliminary round of the Europa League.
Since then, the Dynamo players have progressed in the play-out, relegated or entered insolvency and have not carried out this procedure again.
In the summer, the club managed to fulfill all the criteria to be able to participate in the European cups in the 2026-2027 season.
Dinamo applied for the European Cup license: “It's the first time we've done this procedure”
Dan Gătăianțu, the financial director of the Dinamo club, announced that all the procedures for the UEFA license have been completed. It remains only for Dinamo to succeed and from a sporting point of view to obtain an eligible place for the European cups.
The “Dogs” are currently in 6th place, with 26 points, 5 behind Rapid, in 3rd place. Zeljko Kopic's students are also qualified for the semi-finals of the Romanian Betano Cup, where they will face Craiova University.
“Today is the deadline to publish the financial report, in the context of the UEFA license. It is the first time we have done this procedure, since we started this project. Otherwise, the deadlines are further delayed.
It's about transparency. It is very important to put the numbers in context. We have submitted everything in due time, we are waiting for the feedback from FRF. I have no emotions, it's a normal procedure. It also showed where we need to improve administratively.
It was a very big effort and we need some extra systems to be more efficient. All in all we did it, as was the exit from insolvency, to have the right to participate in the European cups this summer.
It was a very important moment, every day mattered. We are fighting and we have done everything for the UEFA license, let's see where we rank“, declared Gătăianțu, to 48TV.
For Dinamo, the away duel with FC Argeș follows on April 4 (7:30 p.m.).
