Volodymyr Zelensky proposes an energy truce. There is a reaction from the Kremlin

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow “continues to support the general peace agreement.” He also admitted that he was not familiar with the details of the Ukrainian ceasefire proposal.

— Volodymyr Zelensky's statement does not indicate a clearly formulated initiative regarding the Easter truce. He always spoke of his readiness and willingness to reach a truce of any kind. However, we repeat: he must take responsibility and make the right decisions so that we can move towards peace, not a truce, said Dmitry Peskov at a press conference.

Drones over the Baltic Sea. Kremlin threats

Dmitry Peskov also warned on Tuesday of the consequences for countries that allow Ukraine to use their airspace for drone attacks on Baltic ports. The Kremlin spokesman announced that Moscow would take appropriate action. — If airspace is made available for conducting hostile terrorist activities against the Russian Federation, this will force us to draw conclusions and take appropriate actions, Peskov said.

Reuters reported on Tuesday that drones belonging to the Ukrainian army once again hit the Russian port of Ust-Luga on the Baltic Sea and the oil tanks located there. Earlier raids on the port and oil storage facilities in Ust-Luga took place on March 25 and 27. The attacks then also targeted the oil terminal in Primorsk and the base of the Russian Baltic Fleet in Kronstadt. Analysts estimate that the suspension of exports of petroleum products via Ust-Luga may force large refineries in the European part of Russia to limit the scope of their operations.

Volodymyr Zelensky declared his readiness for an energy truce

Volodymyr Zelensky declared on Monday his readiness to stop fighting with Moscow at Easter, “but not at the price of dignity and independence.” He also announced that if Russia refrains from striking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Ukraine will not attack facilities of this type.

— We support any means of ending the war. (…) If Russia is ready not to attack the Ukrainian energy sector, we will not respond by striking its energy sector, Volodymyr Zelensky said in a conversation with journalists.

The President of Ukraine expressed confidence on Monday that the trilateral peace talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia can continue. He rejected suggestions of an impasse in the negotiations. He announced that it is necessary to organize a tripartite meeting and continue the diplomatic path.
