Series about Jeffrey Epstein, starring an Oscar and Emmy-winning actress. The announcement made by Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures Television has announced that it will propose to potential clients a series project about the late Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced American financier after the wave of accusations of sex crimes. The series, which does not yet have a title and has not gone into production, will also star Oscar- and Emmy-winning actress Laura Dern, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Laura Dern, who will also executive produce, will play the role of Brown, the Miami Herald investigative reporter who tracked down Epstein when no one else did, The Guardian wrote.
The script will be based on Brown's 2021 book, “Perversion of Injustice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story.”
Sharon Hoffman (Mrs. America, House of Cards) will adapt the book for the small screen and helm the upcoming TV production alongside Eileen Myers (American Hostage, Masters of Sex), according to Variety.
The limited series will be executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker Adam McKay, writer and director of Don't Look Up and executive producer of HBO's Succession.
The limited series will center on an “explosive story”
The series will offer “an explosive account of an investigative reporter who uncovers the secret plea agreement between Epstein and federal prosecutors,” Sony Pictures says in the official description, according to Agerpres.
“Based on Brown's experience as a groundbreaking reporter for the Miami Herald, the book and limited series chronicle her tireless investigation that spanned years, identified 80 victims, convinced key survivors to testify, and led to the arrest of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell,” according to the description.
