Due to the rising fuel prices, last week the government announced a temporary package of “Fuel Prices Lower” regulations, which are intended to limit the increase in the prices of these products. On Tuesday, the maximum prices for fuels will apply at gas stations throughout Poland, which were set by the announcement of the Minister of Energy published the day before in Monitor Polski.

It follows that the maximum price for unleaded 95 gasoline is PLN 5.42 per liter, and increased by VAT, it is to be no higher than PLN 6.16. The maximum price for 98 unleaded petrol was set at PLN 5.98 per liter, plus VAT in the amount of PLN 6.76 per liter. In turn, the maximum price for diesel oil is PLN 6.76 per liter, plus PLN 7.60 per liter, plus VAT.

Orlen confirms the rates at its stations

Answering PAP's questions regarding the introduced regulations and current fuel prices in retail sales of Orlen, nearoncern announced on Tuesday that prices at its stations “are consistent with the applicable act and amount to no more than: Pb95 – PLN 6.16/l, Pb98 – PLN 6.76/l and diesel oil – PLN 7.60/l“.

The company also assessed that the “Lower Fuel Prices” Package allowed it to offer customers “the lowest possible prices during the worst-ever global fuel price crisis that we are currently facing“Seeing today's movements on the markets, we anticipate that on Wednesday, April 1, our customers will see exactly the same prices as today,” Orlen noted.

Cheaper at Orlen? Maximum prices plus application discounts

The company also announced that the fuel promotion it introduced on March 12 for users of the Orlen Vitay application, which is to last until May 3, “will be maintained, in accordance with previously agreed conditions”.

This means that discounts will continue to apply to the prices displayed on the pylons, including the weekend promotion that reduces the price of a liter of fuel by up to PLN 35, Orlen emphasized.

As he said, at the end of February this year, he had a network of 1,962 gas stations in Poland, of which 442 were franchise stations.

The company pointed out that the amendment to the Act on Crude Oil and Fuel Stocks introduced a mechanism for temporarily applying maximum prices for liquid fuels at stations during the period of reduced VAT rates. He also emphasized that “the maximum fuel price is universal and applies to all sellers of liquid fuels, both at their own and franchised stations.”

The maximum price announced by the Minister of Energy is valid from the day following its publication in Monitor Polski. If announced before non-working days and holidays, the rate will apply until the next business day. In accordance with the regulations, the Ministry of Energy will publish an announcement on maximum fuel prices every day. Sales above the maximum price are subject to a penalty of up to PLN 1 million, and inspections are to be carried out by the National Tax Administration. (PAP)
