The last elections from the FRF have already been history for almost two weeks, but they will have consequences, not only at the CAS, but also in the internal courts, to which the counter-candidate Ilie Drăgan, the president of the 3 Kids Sport club, appealed.
At the forum in Lausanne, he submitted a request to establish the ineligibility of Răzvan Burleanu for the position of FRF president, to invalidate his candidacy, on the grounds that he had already served 3 mandates, but also to cancel the FRF General Assembly of March 18.
So far TAS has announced that in this case the trial panel will consist of a single judge, but has not yet specified the first term.
April 21, the first deadline for Burleanu's suspension request
Ilie Drăgan did not stop here, however, and addressed the Romanian civil courts. In a first file, he also requested the annulment of the decisions taken at the FRF General Assembly, which validated the 4th term of president for Răzvan Burleanu.
In addition, another case was started, to obtain a presidential ordinance by which the suspension of the minutes was requested, which validated the March 18 exemption from voting, regarding the election of the president. Basically, Răzvan Burleanu's suspension from office was invoked until the trial of the first case.
If in his case a deadline for starting the process has not yet been received, on the other hand, for the presidential ordinance, the Court has already set the date for the start of the trial, for April 21.
“To prove that he is honest, at least in the 13th hour!”
Ilie Drăgan said that “Mr. Burleanu gave himself an honest man, a man of honor and he still wants to convince us that he is so. It would be his case and prove it. He had 3 mandates and violated the provisions of the Statute, where the article regarding the maximum number of mandates cannot be interpreted in any way.
So now, decently, he should resign, at least now, in the 13th hour! That he was not the only candidate, like in 2022!”.
Ilie Drăgan will also file a discrimination complaint with the Tribunal, because he was not allowed to speak in the plenary of the FRF General Assembly, even though he was a candidate for the post of president.
Moreover, at that meeting, even Mareș Plăcintă, Drăgan's attorney and legal adviser of the 3 Kids Sport club, was not allowed to enter.
Although he had a power of attorney from the affiliated club, it was stopped by Eduard Ursu, a member of the committee for validating candidacy files, but also an employee of the FRF Legal Department.
Plăcintă stated for GSP.ro that “I asked for an explanation right then, I also sent an email, to be told what is the legal basis on the basis of which I could not enter the Casa Fotbalului, but even so far I have not been answered”.
