According to law enforcement officials, the event, announced on social networks, brought together from 500 to 800 people, mostly teenagers and young adults. Police arrived at the scene after reports of a large crowd of people.
During the investigation, a juvenile was arrested for driving under the influence, as well as another person on a warrant for aggravated assault out of Dallas County.
As the crowd began to disperse, police heard several shots fired near the house. After that, they entered the building, but found no victims. Police later received calls about armed men at the entrance and death threats.
Police believe at least six shots were fired, four into the house and two toward the Collin College campus where the participants' vehicles were parked.
The owner of the house said that the housing was rented through Airbnb, supposedly for a small group of seven people, but the tenants misled him. As a result, the party caused significant damage: furniture, lighting and kitchen surfaces were damaged.
