“Reason has won.” Sorin Grindeanu: “Romanians will continue to benefit from capped food prices”
Romanians will continue to benefit from capping the commercial addition to basic foods until June 30, after the Government will approve an emergency ordinance to extend the measure, Sorin Grindeanu said.

“I'm glad that reason won! And the PSD ministers' arguments for protecting the purchasing power of Romanians were heard today in the Coalition. Thus, Romanians will continue to benefit from capping the commercial addition to basic foods until June 30! The government will approve an emergency ordinance to extend the measure, which is all the more necessary before the Easter holidays”Grindeanu wrote on his Facebook page.
The PSD does not give up the plan to reduce the excise duty on fuels either. “It isthe PSD chip proposed a flexible mechanism depending on the evolution of reference prices. What we want is for this mechanism to produce a definite drop in prices, and we are waiting for the Minister of Finance to quickly come up with the final calculations, for which he again asked for a respite today, he addedr”, said the social-democratic leader.
Grindeanu emphasized that the evolution of the international context, the level of inflation and the state of the economy will require new decisions.
“Depending on how the international context, the level of inflation and the economy evolves, new decisions will certainly be necessary. Therefore, I will closely monitor these measures and their effects, and the social democratic ministers and PSD specialists will come up with new public policies.”Grindeanu also said.
