Both the indexation of pensions and allowances provide real support for the elderly and disabled, who often struggle with the rising costs of living. Higher benefits are intended to improve their financial situation and ensure greater social security. The changes cover not only retirees, but also pensioners and other eligible groups.

Supplements to pension benefits are important support for seniors and people in difficult life situations. Their amount increases every year in March, and the rules for awarding them vary.
Pension supplements 2026 – new amounts after indexation
As a reminder: ZUS pays not only pensions and annuities, but also supplements to these benefits for those entitled to them. The most popular of them is the care allowance, which is tax-free and free from deductions. The care allowance is available to people over 75 years of age who receive a pension from ZUS.
It is paid automatically, but does not apply to people on a social pension and using the “Mama 4 plus” program. Younger people can receive this allowance after obtaining a certificate of total incapacity for work and independent living.

From March 1, 2026, the care allowance amounts to PLN 366.68 per month. When is the care allowance not payable? It will not be given to people staying in a care and treatment facility for more than 2 weeks a month. You cannot receive care allowance and ZUS supplement at the same time.
Pension supplements 2026 – list and amount of benefits
The indexation of pensions and pensions, which increased the amount of the basic retirement benefit, also increased the amount of allowances. The March indexation also covered other allowances paid by ZUS. As calculated by Infor.pl, their current amount is:
- allowance for secret teaching – PLN 366.68,
- care allowance for a war invalid recognized as completely incapable of work and independent living – PLN 550.02,
- allowance for a complete orphan – PLN 689.17,
- veteran's allowance – PLN 366.68,
- compensatory allowance – PLN 55.00,
- cash supplement to the war invalidity pension – PLN 1,403.90,
- a cash benefit for former miners' soldiers and a benefit for deported persons set at the maximum amount of PLN 366.68.
Each supplement has different award criteria. You must submit an application and appropriate documents to receive an orphan's allowance, veteran's allowance or compensatory allowance. The amount and rules of the award depend on status, age, family and health situation.

In addition to pensions and annuities, the support list also includes an energy lump sum, i.e. a fixed monthly payment for electricity, gas and heat bills for veterans, their widows/widowers and repressed people.
Together with the indexation of pensions, this allowance also has a new, higher value from March 1, 2026 – it currently amounts to PLN 336.16.
