CPAC Texas Convention. Karol Nawrocki spoke. “Poland and the USA are not only allies”

He added that “Poland and the United States are not just allies.” —We are a nation built around the same idea that government should serve the people, not rule them; that freedom must be protected, not managed; that tradition is important because it gives the meaning of freedom, said Nawrocki.
Karol Nawrocki: Christian civilization is in danger
— Today our Christian civilization is in danger. Not only from the outside, but also from the inside. We hear that patriotism is something we should be ashamed of, that borders are not important, that faith should be pushed out of public life, that tradition is not important. We hear it at your place and you hear it here, he added.
— A nation without an identity is a nation without a future. And I am sure that we – in Poland and here in the United States – will not allow it. Because we know something that many elites have forgotten: freedom will not survive on its own. It needs strong families. It needs strong communities. It needs people who will defend it, emphasized Karol Nawrocki.
The president emphasized that he knew that “the threat does not only result from our culture.”
Karol Nawrocki: Russia does not defend conservatism
— It is real. In today's Europe we are dealing with an aggressive Russia. A regime that invades its neighbors. A regime that destroys cities. A regime that believes that power gives it the right to dominate others. And today the same regime is trying to convince the world: “we are defenders of traditional values.” This is a lie. Russia does not defend conservatism. Russia represents corruption and violence. True conservatism respects nations. True conservatism respects human dignity. True conservatism believes in freedom within the law, Nawrocki pointed out.
— We see different threats and regimes in different parts of the world. These authoritarian powers want to reshape the world around control. Faced with this, we have a choice – to be divided or to stand together. Poland made a choice – we stayed on the side of the United States, as we always do, he emphasized.
“Alliances are built on the battlefield”
— Alliances are not built only in conference rooms and behind closed doors. They are built on the battlefield. They are built in moments of courage. They are built in moments of sacrifice – including moments of courage and ultimate sacrifice demonstrated by the 66 Polish soldiers who gave their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan, he added.
Karol Nawrocki: Poland made a good decision by joining the EU. Now the EU needs repairs
The president said that “the challenges we face also come from within.”
— Poland made a good decision by joining the European Union. We want to be part of it. I hope that most of my Poles share the view that Poland has a voice and the right to speak out. Now the EU needs quick repairs. We see policies that, however well-intended, risk weakening the foundations of our strength. We see bureaucrats making decisions that defy common sense. I'm talking about energy and migration policies and ideological projects that distract us from the values that are the basis of our civilization, he added.
— Poland is committed to the transatlantic ideal of strong countries and nations – those that remember where their real strength comes from. Poland is a success story of freedom, he said, recalling the history of the 20th century in Poland, including the occupation and rule of communists, and then its rapid development after the political transformation.
— I agree with President Trump who calls on European countries to increase spending on our common security. Yes, Europe must spend more. Yes, Europe must take more responsibility for its security. In Poland we understand this. That is why we are the eastern guard of Europe, Western civilization, which we defend against tyranny, lies and violence from the East: from Russia, but not only from there. But we will not accomplish this great task alone, or even in cooperation with the United States. We need our allies – their commitment and sacrifice to preserve freedom. That is why we must develop and strengthen NATO, he added.
— So let me say it clearly here in Dallas, Texas: when Poland and America stand together, freedom wins. When we stay true to our values, freedom wins. When we have the courage to defend what is important, freedom wins. May God bless Poland! God bless the United States of America! And may God bless the alliance between our great nations! – Karol Nawrocki concluded his speech.
