Asked about the start of negotiations with Guțilă for the transfer of the club, the president Alexandru Meszar answered in the first instance with a long laugh. However, he then admitted that he had a meeting with that person before he left for Istanbul for the Turkey-Romania match, as a member of the Executive Committee.
“We talked a little bit. We didn't discuss club stuff. He said he had a project. But we just wanted to get to know each other, we drank a drink, nothing special. We didn't go into any details,” Meszar defended diplomatically.
In a subsequent intervention for sportarad.ro, however, he emphasized that “I am willing to sell the club, including without a financial consideration. However, those who take over UTA must present real guarantees that they can ensure the continuity and development of the club. For me, the most important thing is the future of this club and its long-term stability.”

And he continued: “UTA is not just a sports entity, it is a symbol of Arad, and any decision must be taken responsibly. I do not see the preventive agreement as a disadvantage. On the contrary, it is an element of transparency. Any potential investor knows exactly the situation of the club, there is a clear plan, approved by the court, with a well-defined payment schedule. There are no hidden things, there are no major uncertainties.”
The interest must be serious and based on a solid project, not on momentary intentions. UTA is a club with potential, with supporters, with history, and if a partner or an investor appears who can carry this project forward in good conditions, I am open to dialogue

GSP tried to get in touch with Tudor Gutilă, but he refused to answer repeated messages and phone calls.

And I am also thinking about what is happening at the youth center, about many things that Gigi surely does not know”.
