The legendary golfer Tiger Woods (50 years old) was arrested for driving under the influence of prohibited substances after causing a traffic accident in Florida, close to his residence. His vehicle overturned and there were no injuries, according to county Sheriff John Budensiek.
In an emergency press conference, Sheriff Budensiek confirmed that Woods was traveling at “a high rate of speed” when he collided with another vehicle.
The authorities stated that the athlete “showed signs of deterioration in health”. The rapid breathalyzer test indicated that the sports great had not consumed alcohol, but Woods refused to submit to a urine test.

Woods was charged with driving under the influence, property damage and failure to submit to testing, all misdemeanors in the state of Florida, according to Fox News. No prohibited substances were found in the car.
Tiger was safely in the car, it is unclear if he was wearing a seat belt. The car overturned as a result of the impact, he managed to get out of the window on the opposite side.

Earlier this week, Woods had just returned to the circuit. He had participated in the TGL, his return to professional golf after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon before the Masters last year.
Winner of 15 major tournaments, including five at Augusta, Woods has not confirmed his participation in this year's edition of the Masters.

This is not the first traffic incident involving Tiger Woods. In 2021, he suffered a serious accident that left him with serious leg injuries, keeping him off the golf course for an entire year.
