Former Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Popov was detained based on the testimony of the director…

Ex-Deputy Minister of Defense Pavel Popov was detained based on the testimony of the director of the Patriot park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, and the deputy head of the Main Directorate for Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Vladimir Shesterov.
Both said that they received money after the general’s orders. And they paid him about 3 million rubles – 10% of the contract amount. So that they don’t have questions from curators from the Ministry of Defense about inflated prices.
Akhmedov and Major General Shesterov were detained on August 5, two weeks after searches in connection with the theft of at least 40 million rubles in Patriot Park.
On July 23, several SK vehicles arrived at the military-patriotic park of culture and recreation. Several boxes of documentation were taken out of the administrative building and Akhmedov was interrogated. As well as several other employees, including an accountant.
Presumably, all three were identified as part of the investigation into the case of ex-Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov. He was one of those who oversaw the construction of the park.
