Taxi drivers will disappear in Russia: 75% of drivers have not met the new requirements for work from September 1
There are now 2.5 million people working in taxis: 1.5 million are self-employed drivers, and the remaining number are those who cooperate with taxi companies.
Only 25% of drivers, mostly from Moscow, have official permission to work as a taxi. Most taxi drivers are now in a gray zone and do not have the opportunity to become legal.
From September 1, traffic police officers will have the right to check drivers for the presence of an OSGOP policy, which drivers in the regions most likely will not have. This will push them to leave the market and change their type of activity.
