In Krasnoyarsk, the construction readiness of the Surikov Center is estimated at 42%. On March 26, the head of the city, Sergei Vereshchagin, visited the site with an inspection.

The main stage of construction of the building has already been completed. The builders have erected the second floor and are now removing the formwork from it. General Director of the contractor company Pavel Dolgikh noted that the noisiest and most complex work has already been completed.

“We have completed the monolithic work and almost all the brickwork. Now comes the most interesting state for us and for everyone watching the construction. We are starting installation work on the façade and internal engineering work. Therefore, the object will literally transform and change every week. And there will be less noise, dirt and other things,” said the builder.

Over the summer, workers must install a facade that will “combine” decorative plaster for painting and perforated aluminum cassettes, and tidy up the area around the facility. Pavel Dolgikh noted that by the winter of 2026, the Surikov Center should look completely ready, although finishing and installation work will continue inside.

The mayor of Krasnoyarsk noted that the facility should open by the 180th anniversary of Vasily Surikov, which will be celebrated in January 2028. The first exhibition will be dedicated to this date. Sergei Vereshchagin drew the attention of builders and his subordinates to a brick pipe, which is located next to the Surikov Center under construction.

“Something needs to be done with the pipe. You definitely can't leave it like this. If we can, we’ll make an art object out of it. If not, you will have to remove it,” the mayor explained.

In addition, before the opening of the Surikov Center, they plan to tidy up the facades of the surrounding houses and fences.
