MegaFon expanded 4G coverage in 16 municipal districts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

In 2025, residents of almost 40 rural areas of the Krasnoyarsk Territory received access to MegaFon cellular communications. Along with it is the opportunity to make video calls, use online banking and government services, study and work remotely – on a par with subscribers in large cities.
The operator deployed a fourth generation network (4G/LTE) in the villages of Abansky, Achinsky, Balakhtinsko-Novoselsky, Bogotolsky, Yenisei, Ilansko-Nizhneingashsky, Mansko-Uyarsky, Kazachinsko‑Pirovsky, Karatuzsky, Kansky, Kuraginsky, Nazarovsky, Rybinsky, Bolshemurtinsko-Sukhobuzimsky, Dzerzhinsko-Taseevsky and Shushensky municipal districts.
Big data analytics shows the demand for mobile services: after installing telecom equipment, the average monthly traffic volume in these rural areas is 44 TB. At the same time, digital activity does not depend on the number of residents or the area of the territory. An illustrative example is the village of Kovrigino, Bolshemurtinsko-Sukhobuzimsky district. There are only three streets and a little more than 170 people, but it turned out to be the leader in the volume of generated online information among all the settlements connected last year.
“Modern communications are changing life in rural areas not formally, but truly. Where stable mobile Internet and voice communications appear, people have more opportunities for creativity, self-realization, study, business development and leisure activities. The village ceases to be isolated from events and becomes part of the common digital space,” said Andrey Kim, director of MegaFon in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The launch of 4G also has implications for paramedics and midwives: medical specialists can more quickly consult patients, exchange data and use telemedicine capabilities.

Access to digital services is also important for the work of rural clubs and cultural centers. Communication allows you to hold events in a new format, participate in remote competitions and festivals, share projects with a wide audience and maintain professional contacts. For residents, this is access to cultural life without the need to travel to large cities.
It should be noted that the expansion of MegaFon’s LTE network coverage in the region was carried out within the framework of the state programs “Development of the Information Society” and “Elimination of Digital Inequality 2.0”, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
