“The highly respected Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, is a truly strong and influential leader with a proven track record of phenomenal achievements. He fights tirelessly for his great country and nation and has a deep love for them, just as I do for the United States of America,” reads Donald Trump's tweet.
Before the upcoming elections in Hungary, the US president argues that Orban is “working hard to protect his country, as well as develop the economy and stop illegal immigration.” Trump also claims that relations between Hungary and the United States “have reached a new level of cooperation and spectacular achievements” during his term, primarily thanks to the Fidesz leader.

“I look forward to continuing to work closely with him so that both of our countries can continue on this great path to SUCCESS and cooperation. I was proud to support Viktor in the 2022 election and am honored to do so again,” writes the US president.
The elections in Hungary are scheduled for April 12. Recent polls show that after many years there may be a change of government in this country. Orban's Fidesz is behind the largest opposition party, Tisza.
“Hungary: GO OUT AND VOTE FOR VIKTOR ORBAN. He is a true friend, warrior and WINNER and has my full and complete support in the election for Prime Minister of Hungary – VIKTOR ORBAN WILL NEVER LET THE GREAT HUNGARIAN NATION DOWN. I AM WITH HIM TO THE END!” – concludes Trump.
The US president's entry is not the only form of American support for Orban before the elections. JD Vance is scheduled to visit Budapest in the coming days. The Vice President of the United States is also expected to officially support the Hungarian Prime Minister.
