At Eurometal's 75th anniversary conference, industry representatives said that no one can yet estimate how prices will change after CBAM is finally implemented, making planning extremely difficult.
In addition, many manufacturers still do not fully understand the value of the “green” transition, so if the EU wants to speed it up, more incentives are needed – for example, state subsidies or green procurement rules.
For Ukraine, SVAM is also a very serious challenge that can collapse export industries and the economy. The European Commission is ready to grant us a reprieve, but the government should have already submitted an official request. Experts and market participants called for this issue to be put under the control of the president.
