The Swedish-American athlete legally married long-term girlfriend Anglander in Stockholm behind closed doors and planned to hold a proper reception this summer in France.
Swedish citizens must register in their home country before marrying abroad, hence Duplantis' secretive move.
The information only came to light after a Bislett Games organizer and wedding guest let it slip that double Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Duplantis would not be competing at the June event as he would be in Cannes to celebrate his marriage properly.
Now that the news is out, Duplantis stated: “I don't have the ring on yet and we'll have the actual ceremony and wedding in the summer”according to a Swedish publication, quoted by The Sun.
The couple became famous after the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024, when the blonde celebrated with the athlete his successful performance.

The two met in June 2020 at a party, with the model telling the aforementioned magazine that Duplantis initially felt rejected by her.
I had just finished high school and wasn't interested in anyone at the time. He felt that I rejected him immediately.
