In November 2018, a native of Uzbekistan, Temur Khusinov, and a friend were sitting in the courtyard of a residential building. They met a couple of drunk people who were arguing and reprimanded them. A conflict broke out. Khusinov hit one of the drunken passers-by in the head four times, and his friend finished off the man with a blow to the temple. The victim fell his head on the asphalt. He was taken to the hospital with an open head injury and skull fractures: 2 hours later he died without regaining consciousness.
In court, Khusinov claimed that he did not beat anyone – he simply pushed the man after a verbal altercation, and he fell. Under the article “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim,” Khusinov received 6 years of strict regime; he did not admit guilt. He was supposed to serve out his sentence in IK-19 and be released in November.
In IK-19, the migrant sat in comfortable conditions and regularly accessed social networks from his phone, media reports.
