Mirel Rădoi (44 years old), the FCSB coach, drew the conclusions, after what his team beat UTAscore 1-0, in the second stage of the Superleague play-out.
At the end of the game, Mirel Rădoi said that he was enjoying the break caused by the matches of the national teams because he would have time to “torture” the players in training.
He believes that the team played a pretty good match against UTA, but admitted that there are still many things to improve.
VIDEO. Mirel Rădoi, after FCSB – UTA: “An Italian victory”
“An Italian victory, let's joke a little. It looks like a tough win now, but I think we had the game at our disposal, even if we didn't have many clear cut situations. The most positive thing is that, in the second half, we came out with the same attitude and intensity as in the first. I think that if we manage to keep this up in the next 7 games, the opponents will slowly give in.
To be honest, we still have a lot of work to do. The most important thing was to mentally fit them. They're still thinking about missing the play-offs, I think the season will end and that's what they'll be thinking about. We're going up to first place, there's going to be a period where they're going to suffer, with harder training, but I think all teams do that. We have to dictate the pace, not the opponents.
Maybe you interfere with what we discussed, maybe it's my fault. We also exaggerated with the positional attack, we had very few finishing attacks, maybe that's why they didn't score more goals. Maybe that's the reason. The distance between the compartments can be smaller. I'm a demanding guy. What concerns me now is to have more dynamism in the offensive.
Now, when it comes to summons, I've been in that situation too. We can't say if it would have been worth more, I know what it's like to be in that position. We wish them luck. I think the victory will give them morale, especially to Miculescu, who also scored. I hope the national team will go further.
I wouldn't want to be in the situation where I would say that Olaru deserved it. I was in that situation. I am happy for those who are there, but also for those who are here – I can torment them properly. There are players in the second team who have to take the step to the first, to see what level they are at,” said Radoi, at Prima Sport.
