Tragic news comes from Bulgaria, where Hristo Burgazliev, the president of the OFK Pomorie club, was found dead in his car.
According to local media, the official was discovered in a parked car on Monday afternoon, and authorities immediately cordoned off the area to begin investigations.
Death was due to a gunshot wound
The forensic examination determined that the death of Hristo Burgazliev was caused by a gunshot wound.
Investigators are currently looking at two scenarios:
-
the bullet would have been fired from close range, through the car window
-
the fire could have come from the opposite sidewalk of the street
At the same time, the investigation does not exclude the possibility of suicide either.
Police are analyzing surveillance camera footage
The authorities are checking in detail the recordings of surveillance cameras in the area and are interviewing witnesses who may have been nearby at the time of the incident.
Hristo Burgazliev was a well-known figure in the city of Pomorie and in the Burgas region. In addition to the position of president of the OFK Pomorie club, he owned one of the most famous currency exchange houses in the city and several real estate properties.
According to those close to him, Burgazliev had no financial problems or debts, a fact that further complicates the investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy. The Bulgarian official was also the father of the European sports dance champion Hristiana Burgazlieva, which is why the news of his death caused a strong echo in the world of sports, notes sportal.blic.rs.
