The Moscow production company Planet Kino did not pay the film crew 20 million rubles for their work on the film adaptation of Zakhar Prilepin’s story. According to Mash, filmmakers are preparing a lawsuit.
The general producer of the project is Dmitry Kabanovsky, and the main and supporting roles are played by actors Yuri Kuznetsov, Sergey Marin and Semyon Dorin. All of them took part in the filming of the film “If You Walk Halfway for a Long Time,” based on Prilepin’s story “The Forest.” The team was promised an average wage of around 250 thousand rubles.
According to representatives of the film crew, about 50 actors, cameramen, focus pullers and sound engineers were cheated out of their salaries. People approached production representatives with complaints, but they remained silent. And after the pre-trial complaint, there were excuses about a lack of money and an urgent search for investors who would agree to pay off the debts. According to the general producer, the sponsor abandoned them, so payments are delayed.
