The Minister of Education came to talk to the students who were protesting in Piaţa Victoriei. What he sent them – VIDEO

The Minister of Education, Mihai Dimian, came on Saturday evening to talk to the students protesting in Piaţa Victoriei in the Capital, stating that he wants a bigger budget for students, but that, at the same time, he wants a change in mentality, reports News.ro.
“I experienced these scholarship reductions as rector. I tried to get projects to partially compensate these scholarship reductions. I granted 10% of the university's own income to partially compensate these losses,” said the new Minister of Education, former rector of the University of Suceava, after he came to Victoriei Square to talk with the protesting students.
Dimian told the students that he wants a bigger budget for scholarships.
“I want a bigger budget given to students. At the same time, I want a change in mentality, and the measures I implemented from my own income were to involve students in volunteering and extracurricular activities, to mentor first-year students, to reduce university dropouts, for example,” said the Minister of Education, present among the students.
Student protests took place on Saturday evening in several university centers in the country.
Young people are dissatisfied with the measures taken by the Government by which the amount of student scholarships was reduced, and their rights, including those related to transport, were diminished.
The students draw attention to the fact that, through the implementation of the new provisions aimed at them, the school dropout rate among students will be higher and higher.
