Iran rejects Trump's claim that its military forces have been annihilated. “Then why is the Strait of Hormuz still closed?”

Iran categorically rejected US President Donald Trump's claims about the state of the country's naval and air forces.
Mohammad Akbarzadeh, political deputy to the commander of the naval forces of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, said on Friday that the US claims that the Iranian navy had been destroyed are contradicted by developments in the region, reports DPA and Agerpres.
“The United States claims that the Iranian naval forces have been destroyed,” Akbarzadeh said, according to the official Irna news agency.
“Then we have to ask ourselves: why is the Strait of Hormuz still closed and why no oil tanker can pass through it?” he said.
Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform this week that Iran's air and naval forces are “gone” and its missiles, drones and other weapons have been destroyed.
“Again the question arises: why do Iranian missiles and drones continue to hit their targets at regular intervals?” Akbarzadeh asked rhetorically.
Nearly two weeks after the US and Israel launched large-scale attacks against Iran, the regime in Tehran continues to retaliate, increasing pressure on Washington, its allies and the global economy.
The Revolutionary Guards maintain a near-total blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow, 55km-wide non-navigable passage between Iran and Oman, crucial for global oil transport.
