Florin Bratu, before FCSB – Metaloglobus: “Of course I have hope in this match”

The coach of the Superliga club spoke about the first stage of the play-out, even against the champion:

“Obviously I have hope, once I came here, in this match, of course I do, of course. It's normal to be like that. I rely on what I have prepared, on the strength of the group, which I say I managed to put on its feet, to revive it, and on their pride, on their ambition to look good in such matches. I care about my team. FCSB is a very good team.

Naturally I wouldn't have wanted the coach change to happen now. Mirel has a good experience and philosophy, which I like. I know him quite well, I know his principles and on Sunday we will try to cause problems”.

Bratu also told how he learned the news of Mirel Rădoi's arrival at FCSB:

“Yes, I was surprised by the news. When I was on the phone and I read, the phone almost fell on me. At first I thought it was fake news, after which I went to several websites to convince myself. I know Mirel, his pride. He is a coach who follows his principles a lot, who doesn't listen to left-right and we know the context from FCSB. Indeed, it may be a different context, Gigi Becali is his godfather.

Mirel has a very big advantage, that he has a team with individual value. When you have individual value, you can do a lot in a short time. I have been in the team for a week, there have been many defeats in the team in the past.

I tried to talk to everyone, I succeeded morally, as well as with my training ideas to bring them up to the level of Sunday's game. And the confidence level increases in them and in me as well. At the moment we very much have to fight as in war, we shoot and advance. There is no time for beautiful play, for possession. I took the machine gun from Dinamo now, that's it.”

Bratu also commented on the possible tactics of the red-blues:

“I also think the other way around, in the sense that Mirel is in the first match, maybe he doesn't understand the players, the information. I try to encourage myself somehow. It helps us somehow that we play the first match with FCSB in the play-out, then we have the opponents we have to reach and then FCSB can confuse them and help us, if we also win our matches, of course.”
