The Great Tomato Battle took place in Spain
Especially for the annual La Tomatina festival in Buñol, 150 tons of tomatoes were grown, which were thrown at thousands of participants. The city streets turned into a red mess.
The idea of the holiday originated in 1945 after a large-scale fight at the market. Under Franco's dictatorship, La Tomatina was tried several times to be banned.
