In Kansk, traffic inspectors brought to justice a bus driver who committed a gross violation of traffic rules. The incident was caught on outdoor surveillance cameras, and the video was published online.
The footage shows the bus driving in reverse across the bridge over the Kan River, where traffic is one-way. Behind him is a Cherry car. Law enforcement officers found that the passenger vehicle was driven by a 32-year-old man. He told the police that he didn’t want to be stuck in traffic in the morning and decided to shorten the distance this way. A 35-year-old car driver noticed this and followed suit.
All this could easily provoke an emergency. However, no one was injured during the dangerous maneuvers, and there were no passengers on the bus.
Administrative materials were drawn up against the drivers under Part 3 of Article 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Driving in the opposite direction on a one-way road” and a fine of 7,500 rubles was imposed on each.
The State Traffic Inspectorate explains that in case of repeated commission of a similar offense, liability is provided in the form of deprivation of the right to drive for a period of 1 year and calls on drivers not to violate traffic rules.
